I have worked in education for 20 years, and have been involved with St Thomas' Pre-School for the past 13 years, as both a parent and a member of staff. I have been manager here since 2015 and it is a privilege to work with such a committed and passionate team who care deeply not just for every one of our children but for all their families too. Our approach is child-centred, and we work hard to understand and the meet the needs of all children including those with special educational needs and disabilities.

It is difficult to pinpoint what makes St Thomas Preschool the very special place that it is, so if you are considering sending your child here please contact us to arrange a visit and you can come and see for yourself what we do. We’d love to meet you!

I can speak no more highly of St Thomas' Pre-School than I chose to send my own children here! I have worked in a wide range of educational settings for over twelve years and I love the flexibility within Early Years to pursue your unique children's interests and curiosity.  It is a privilege to teach and care for your children during their time here.

I am especially interested in children's play in the outdoors and children's communication and language acquisition.

I have been an Early Years Teacher for over 25 years, starting at the International School of Bilbao in Spain teaching the First Grade. Among my previous work experience in this country are 22 years at local primary schools including Morecambe Road School and 19 years teaching in Reception and Year One.

I believe first and foremost to respect and appreciate each child’s uniqueness and learning style and I seek to provide learning opportunities that will engage your children in active learning.

As a mother of six beautiful children, St Thomas' Pre-School has been part of my life for over 25 years.  I have volunteered and worked for this amazing Pre-School and watched it evolve over the years.  Previously I worked at Moorside Primary School for 8 years as a teaching assistant, mainly with small booster groups and 1:1 with children who need extra support and care.

After studying for my degree at Lancaster University, I worked in early years at an afterschool setting where I gained my level 2 qualification.  I worked at St. Thomas' Preschool for 4 1/2 years, before leaving to have children and work with the Children and Family Wellbeing service as a Youth Worker.

I love St. Thomas' Pre-school as it is such a nurturing environment that both of my sons have loved attending. I'm excited be a part of this wonderful team, helping create an engaging setting where children love to play, learn and grow.

I now work in pre-school to cover staff absence.  It is lovely to maintain links with pre-school having been the Deputy Manager here for 6 years.  I have worked with children and families for more than 20 years in various early years settings.  I currently work with the Neighbourhood Centres.

The day-to-day running of pre-school also wouldn't happen without Corina, our cleaner, who helps keep our building clean and ready for the next day's adventures!

Your child will have a specific named Key Person at pre-school.  We are a small team and while we all get to know you and your family during your time with us, it is part of the Key Person's role to ensure that we at pre-school are meeting the individual and unique needs of your child, helping them to feel settled and comfortable here.  The Key Person is your point of contact between pre-school and home.  Part of our 'home from home' feel means that it is easy to have a conversation with us at the start or end of a day about any concerns you may have, but if you would like to discuss anything more in-depth, please do not hesitate to ask and we will arrange a mutually convenient time to speak.

Your child's Key Person will also upload photographs and updates about your child's learning through play at pre-school through Tapestry, complete statutory checks and liaise with your child's school when they move onto the next stage of their learning journey.
